Mangaluru: Sea erosion at Ullala rises, retaining walls mulled

Mangaluru: Due to heavy rains for the past few days, the sea erosion near Sea Ground at Ullala Coast has intensified.

The sea wave near the Sea Ground has reached the point of hitting the road. The coconut trees are on the verge of being taken by the sea.

More than 13 houses at Sea Ground are under the threat and an atmosphere of fear has been created.

Sea erosion in Battampady is strong and some houses are on the verge of danger. The boulders that are standing to lessen the danger of sea erosion is on the verge of slipping down. The sea wave is hitting the road and half of the road is in the lap of the sea.

Tahasildar Guruprasad, Village Account Pramod and Assistant Navaneeth visited the spot on Wednesday June 29.

The Departmental Authorities have decided to make arrangements for the construction of a retaining wall in the area where sea erosion has intensified.
