Mangaluru: It is a matter of great happiness that the Prime Minister of the country is coming to Mangalore on Friday September 2. We all welcome him. When he arrives as a gift he is launching thousands of crores worth projects too. What is the share of the Centre and the State in this we sought to know, said Mangaluru MLA U. T. Khader.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday August 31, he alleged that the public property of the NMPT has been sold to some industrialists by the Government. The tank inauguration is of a private company. For this project, it is the private money which has been utilised. Has Government contributed money into it, he questioned.

Further, on the issue of Tulu’s inclusion in 8th schedule, he said, “it is so far has been in mere speech. Please assure and stop the wait of the people in the region. Appeal this to the PM.”

Khader added, “Let the meeting to inform about the Kasturirangan Report be held. People from Dakshina Kannada District are deprived of jobs at NMPA, MRPL, and airport. Let a decision be conveyed in the meeting assuring to correct this. Give us information on toll plaza. BJP has promised NIA police station. Forget NIA Police Station, the BJP has not built a single police station,” he mocked.

Reminding about the idea of renaming the international airport after Koti-Chennaiah, he said let Prime Minister be informed about this and let him change the name on the auspicious day of Friday September 2.
