Mangaluru: Theft of valuables, cash worth Rs. 2.97 lakh held

Mangaluru: Thieves broke into a house at Aladangady Sunkadakatte in Badagakarandur Village on the night of Thursday September 22 and stole lakhs of rupees of valuables and cash. A case was registered in this regard on Friday September 23 in Venur Police Station.

The theft took place in the house of Fauzia, a resident of Sunkadakatte. Fauzia who had gone her brother’s house at night and returned home in the morning, found the door lock broken. The thieves broke the lock and opened the Godrej cupboard in the bedroom of the house and found 2 gold chains weighing about 2.5 sovereigns, 2 earrings weighing 1.5 sovereigns, 2 brass lights weighing about 2.5 sovereigns including Rs. 25000 cash has been stolen. The total value stolen includes cash worth Rs. 2.97 lakh.

Venoor Sub-Inspector of Police Soumya J. and the other staff are investigating.
