Udupi : One of the three accused in the Manipal gang rape case-Hariprasad was produced before the Udupi district court on June 28, Friday by the police. He was subject to medical examination at the Udupi District Government Hospital, Ajjarkad before he was produced before the court and he has been remanded in police custody for five days.
The autorickshaw used in the crime had belonged to Hariprasad. He was arrested on June 27, Thursday soon after the first accused Yogish attempted suicide by consuming poison.
It has been learnt that he has confessed to the crime, during interrogation. The other two accused Yogish and Anand, the latter also attempting suicide by hanging to a tree, are admitted to hospital and are undergoing treatment.
