Martin’s multi-cuisine restaurant opened in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The Martins’ Hypermarket inaugurated its multi-cuisine restaurant, ice cream parlour and bakery here on Friday, January 26 at 10.30 AM. Situated on the first floor of “Muller Nest” at Jeppu, Martin’s multi-cuisine restaurant will offer Arabic, Chinese, continental and sub continental, South Indian and North Indian cuisines along with a variety of sea food. The ice cream parlour will serve many mouth watering varieties of ice cream.

U T Khader, State Minister for Food and Public Distribution, was the chief guest of the occasion and Ivan D’Souza, MLC and Chief Whip in the Legislative Council; J R Lobo, MLA, Mangalore South Constituency; Fr. Richard Coelho, Director, Father Muller Medical College; Jecinta Vijay Alfred, Corporator; Fr. Ajith Menezes, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College and Dr. Kavitha D’Souza were the guests of honour.

The Martin’s Multi-Cuisine Restaurant and Bakery was inaugurated by U T Khader. J R Lobo lit the traditional lamp at the inauguration. Ivan D’Souza inaugurated the Ice Cream Parlour section.

At the inauguration, Martin Paul, the Chairman of Martin’s Group, said that 40 percent of the proceeds would go to a charitable cause of educating the orphans. “We want to make them IAS and IPS officers and responsible citizens of India. All of this will be done out of the 40 percent of our revenues. All our best quality products will be available under one roof at competitive prices. We are also offering 5-star delicious dishes at affordable prices”, he said.

J R Lobo in his address, said that it was the right time to open a restaurant at that locality as the road was getting upgraded into a model road.

Khader said that Mangaluru was a good place for setting up a business. “Seafood is in high demand here and Martin’s can get the best out of this city”, he added. He also extended his full support to the new venture and lauded Martin Paul’s unique concept of charity via business. He invited Martin Paul to set up more ventures in the city and be a part of the developing city’s growth.

Fr. Richard Coelho, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institution, thanked the authorities for developing Fr. Muller’s Road as a model road and appreciated Martin’s for opening up the restaurant at the Muller Nest building. He too extended his full support and best wishes for the venture.

Ivan D’Souza, in his address to the gathering, said that he was like a family member to Martin’s as he resided next to the restaurant. “People around here have supported Martin’s Hypermarket. When people support, you feel like doing more, and that’s how Martin was inspired to venture into this restaurant business. With good intentions, he has started this business. People will surely patronise him”, he said.

Martin Paul’s family members, well-wishers and others were present at the event.
