Mangaluru/Bengaluru: Home Minister G Parameshwara has directed IGP Western range Arun Chakravarthy to send professional swimmers from Panamboor and Karwar to trace the bodies of two Kannada actors who went missing after a daredevil stunt during a movie climax scene.
Minister had directed the home guard and fire personnel to take all the necessary action in retrieving the bodies. He also advised DG M N Reddy to bring swimming experts from Panamboor and Seabird in Karwar in this regard.
It may be recalled that Anil and Uday attempted a one-of-its-kind stunt in Kannada cinema and had jumped from a helicopter from a height of 100 feet into Thippagondanahalli(TG Halli) reservoir along with the lead actor Duniya Vijay to shoot the climax scene of Kannada movie ‘Mastigudi’. Soon after the fatal jump, Vijay was rescued by a coracle on stand-by but both Uday and Anil are seen in the video shouting for help and finally disappear into the water. The rescue boat which was arranged had a technical problem which delayed them to reach the duo on time.
