Member of Mangala Swimming Club Breaks International Record

Mangaluru: Chintan S Shetty, a member of the Mangala Swimming Club in Mangaluru, achieved an outstanding feat in swimming. He participated in the Taliss-IST International competitions in Tanzania, Africa, as an invitee, competing in the 15-16 year old boys’ division.

Chintan excelled in the 50 and 100 meters freestyle, 50 and 100 meters butterfly individual medley swimming competitions, setting new records.

He secured a silver medal in the 400 meters individual swimming competition, a bronze medal in the 4 x 50 meters medley relay, and earned the individual championship, bringing honor to the district, state, and country.

Chintan S Shetty is currently a student at Ramakrishna High School, Bunts Hostel, Mangaluru, and received training from senior club trainer M Shivananda Gatty, along with international trainers Shishir S Gatty, Keertan S Shetty, Chetan S Shetty, and Rajesh Kharvi Bengre at the Corporation Swimming Pool, Mangaluru.
