Belthangady: A massive ‘Rath Yathra’ intending to stop the Yettinahole project will be held in the district from December 10 to 12, said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Addressing the reporters in Belthangady on Monday, Kateel who was on his ‘Grama Darshan’ programme, said that the Siddaramaiah led Congress Government at the state is conspiring to implement the project which will unleash havoc on the coastal belt and hence there is a need to avert the same.

“We will win a legal battle, but what is disheartening is the attitude of the CM. He has not convened a meeting in this regard even for courtesy sake so far. He has been sidelining and belittling the Court orders when it comes to Yettinahole project. He has, time and again shown that he cares little for the emotions of the people from the coastal belt,” he said adding that if the massive Rath Yathra fails to wake up the government, then a revolutionary movement will be started by January 26.

The MP said that he has been holding ‘Grama Darshan’ programme to understand the problems of the people and also to review the progress of developmental projects at the grassroots level.

He opined that the Law and Order situation of the district has been deteriorating and the administrative mechanism has come to standstill. “The officers are dictating terms on the government. There are attacks on innocents and the government is not acting. The Intelligence report has hinted that the ISIS is finding ground in coastal belt,” the MP said adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has his focus set on rooting out terrorism, black money and corruption.
