Mangaluru: Every nook and corner of India has its rich culture, heritage, traditions, and diversity. And with each unique culture comes a billion ways to celebrate each one of them. Reflecting this, Mangaluru International Airport is decked up in dazzling lights to celebrate Diwali. All passengers travelling through MIA are in for a fun-filled and memorable time this Diwali and can indulge in various passenger-centric activities .

A series of activities that include shopping promotions, artistically created selfie points, and craft classes has been lined up to add pep to the festive nip in the air starting October 15. The excitement will not stop here. As the calendar year draws to a close, MIA will continue this Diwali festive spirit into the new year with the 2023 season greeting segment of the extended festive season, thereby enhancing the passenger experience.

Starting October 15, passengers will get their chance to ‘Spin the Wheel’ in the domestic security hold area and get exciting shopping offers from select retail outlets participating in this Diwali promotion. Passengers who shop for more than ₹2500 within an hour either at retail or food and beverage outlets will get an assured gift bag with memorabilia that will add to their memories at this #GatewayToGoodness.

And these two promotional activations will not end with Diwali. Wanting to create a festive atmosphere for passengers, MIA has decided to keep these activations running into the New Year and will end on January 10, 2023. This will not be all. MIA has also lined up a DIY craft activity for passengers from October 18 to 22 from 10 am to 7 pm. Experts will be on hand to guide passengers, especially children to try their hand at this activity.

Already creating a buzz at the airport is the luminescent décor of ‘Kalpavriksha’, the wish-fulfilling tree in the forecourt of the lower ground floor. It has emerged as the new selfie hotspot at the airport. Families & individuals, irrespective of their faith take time off for a picture-perfect moment. A similar décor in the pre-SHA in front of the airline counter will present one more opportunity to add a picture to one’s travel memory bank.

The terminal will also be lit up on this auspicious occasion of Diwali celebrations to add to the festive ambience of the airport. MIA celebrates local festivals and culture, enthusiastically.

MIA has unveiled the #IndiasCelebrationStarter to capture the spirit of the festival celebration as a starting point, with millions of passengers travelling to experience the Indian festive season, reflecting its true cultural ethos.

Be it landing home to celebrate the traditional festivals with family or taking off to live new cultural experiences nationally, MIA is the home for all cultural celebrations. MIA in its true spirit of being a #GatewaytoGoodness always prioritizes passengers’ safety and security. All the activities will be conducted adhering to COVID-19 norms and protocols that include wearing masks and always practising social distancing.
