Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District is well-connected with neighbouring district Kasaragod as well as state, Kerala. Not only through main road but also one can go to the border district through various interior roads, and hence tight security is in place in all the seven roads which are under commissionerate including Talapady checkpost, said Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday December 28, he said that no one should venture out unnecessarily during the imposition of night curfew. If at all someone ventures out having an identity card is compulsory. People moving towards airport, railway stations and bus stands should show tickets, he informed.

In all, 36 checkposts would come up in the City, and the officers have been asked to be hyper vigilant as far as checking is concerned. Main roads will have barricades, he added.
