Mangaluru: The Congress leaders on Saturday December 19, launched a verbal attack against the BJP leader Subramanian Swamy labeling him as “the BJP’s pet dog”, ‘’a psycho” and “a mad barking dog” over the contentious National Herald case.
Addressing a protest near DC’s office here against the union government, MLC Ivan Lobo questioned the grounds on which Subramanian Swamy was making allegations against the top Congress leaders. “Even my dog does not believe Subramanian Swamy. He is an agent of the BJP and also the party’s pet dog. It is clear that he is trying to demolish the Congress party by framing our leaders. It may be recalled that he had recently raised the issue of Rahul’s citizenship but his plan went for a toss.
But, he will never be able to achieve his goal,” Ivan said.
He demanded that Prime Minister Modi should give up hate politics and concentrate on development of the country and added that all party workers will initiate jail bharo movement if the Gandhis are jailed.
Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment and Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai said that Subramanian Swamy has lost his mental stability. “He is a psycho. None of the allegations that he has made are true. By re-opening the National herald case, he has insulted people which fought for Independence. The National Herald was started by Pandit Nehru in 1938. The publication was stopped due to losses. All the cases registered against the newspaper were shelved when it closed down. In 2011, National Herald was restarted through Young India Trust. The BJP is purely playing politics of vendetta which we strongly condemn.”
Taking the war of words a step further, KPCC member PV Mohan said that Swamy is not a pet dog, but a mad barking dog. “He is a puppet in the hands of Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Arun Jaitely. National Herald is our property and nobody has the right to question us on that,” he added.
