Moodabidri: “There is no fissure and there is no back door”, said MLC Ivan D’souza reacting over the reported differences with youth leader Mithun Rai, another strong contender for Moodabidri Assembly segment.
“Local ‘Janaspandana’ office was opened to help people in the area avail the benefits of state government schemes and to spread awareness about them. If Mithun Rai gets an opportunity to contest from Moodabidri, he will work with more vigour and dynamism,” said Ivan to silence his detractors.
“I wish there is a change of heart in Prime Minister Modi so that the poor and working class benefit,” said Ivan and advised local BJP leaders to march to New Delhi instead of taking part in Parivarthan rally here.
There are 42 cases pending against State BJP Chief B S Yeddyurappa spearheading the Parivarthan rally and more than 15 BJP leaders have experienced jail term being in power, he said and added the Parivarthan (change) is required at their end.
Modi assured of creating 2 lakh jobs for the unemployed but on the ground the reality is different, said Ivan seeking a “change of heart” in PM’s attitude to reach out to the needy and working community.
BJP itself is a divided house with many leaders vying for power and JDS is not a serious opponent considering its influence in only 3 districts of the state, claimed Ivan.
Talking of local issues, Ivan said the road works between Moodabidri and Karkala delayed due to incessant rains would be taken up soon as Rs 19 Crore worth contract had already been allotted. He assured of delivering benefits of loan waiver to farmers who repaid loans in advance after discussing with the state chief minister over the issue.
Leaders Wilfred Mendonca, Lazarus D’Costa and KPCC member Gururaj and former Taluk Panchayat member Prakash were present.
