Mangalore : Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M Veerappa Moily has expressed confidence that the Congress would come to power in the state with an absolute majority in the state after the upcoming Assembly election.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to the Mangalore South Election office of the party on April 18, Thursday, Moily said compared to last time, the Congress was enjoying double the support of the electorate this time.
Defending the process of selection of candidates by the Congress, he said all efforts have been made to ensure social justice. He said the candidates were selected in a democratic way after several rounds of survey and talks.
On rebellion by former minister Vasanth Salian in Kaup, Moily said there was no question of injustice to Salian as he had already contested seven times and has won five times. Salian also has become a minister twice, Moily said.
