shakuntalaPuttur: Rubbishing rumors of she aligning with the BJP in forthcoming elections, Shakuntala Shetty, Congress MLA from Puttur and an erstwhile BJP member in an FB post stated that questions of she deserting the Congress party, which provided her with immense opportunity to grow does not arise.

The clarification came in the backdrop of rumors over the social media which suggest that the MLA would soon join her parent party viz BJP with few even adding that the same is scheduled after the Prime Minister’s visit to the district on October 29.

Shakuntala Shetty had joined Congress around four and a half years ago.
Meanwhile, there are accusations that the MLA has been giving a cold treatment to needs of original Congressmen whereas she readily responds to demands of the opposition members. These allegations were leveled by Member of Land Tribunal, Boodiyar Purushotham Rai at a press conference here on Thursday October 26 who has brought his grievances against Shakuntala Shetty to the notice of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, party leaders, Venugopal, Vishnunathan, chief minister and some ministers.

Basheer Boodiyar, Sunil D’Souza Malar, Ayub Gadaje and Jagadish Rai Dimbri were present at the press conference.
