One drowns, four others feared dead in River Phalguni in Bantwal

Mangaluru: One boy died while four other teenagers who ventured into River Phalguni are feared dead. While body of one has been retrieved on Monday at a place called Mularapatna in Bantwal Taluk, the search for four is on.

Aslam (17) is the deceased while Rameez (17), Ajmal (18), Mudassar (17) and Sawad (17), all local residents of Bantwal are feared drowned. Since it was a holiday on Monday, the group came together to have a refreshing swim in the river. But when they did not return to their respective homes even after fall of dusk, worried family members started a search. The parents of the boys found their clothes and mobile phone placed on the bank of the river, confirmed that they may have fallen into trouble.

Soon, body of Aslam was found in water. Bantwal Rural Police have registered a case.
