Puttur Town police in Mangaluru have taken steps to address a derogatory post on Facebook attributed to Praveen Maddadka, following a formal complaint lodged by Raju Hosmata, the district president of Ambedkar Apatbandhava.

Hosmata alleged that a post made by Praveen Maddadka on Facebook, noticed on March 21, was aimed at inciting animosity among different castes and communities, thus disrupting communal harmony.

In response to the complaint, the police have filed a case under IPC Sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups) and 295A (deliberate acts intended to outrage religious feelings).
