Ullal: Ramagopal Acarya and his wife Meena Kumari from Kotekaru purchased medications for diabetes from a medical shop and have the receipts to prove it. Upon seeing a news report titled “Sugar tablets are Plastic,” Ramagopal began to suspect that the medications he had obtained might be counterfeit. He started investigating whether the medications he had were genuine or fake.
Consequently, he placed tablet Isryl M-22 MG, along with 500 MG Saridon and calcium tablets, in water. The next morning, he observed that the calcium and Saridon tablets had completely dissolved. However, the Isryl tablets, which are taken for diabetes, had disintegrated and were floating, creating a foam-like appearance five times their original size.
Troubled by this situation, Ramagopal contacted the owner of the medical shop. The shop owner explained that they sourced the tablets directly from the responsible company officials. They suggested that if there were any suspicions, Ramagopal should reach out to the customer service center, as indicated on the tablet packaging. The family asserted that the pill they received was counterfeit.
