Prasad Art Gallery to host four-day art fest ‘ParamPrateeka’ to mark its 27 years from Feb 25

Mangaluru: Prasad Art Gallery, Mangaluru’s first and most prolific art gallery, is completing 27 vibrant years this year. To mark this occasion, the gallery is organising ‘ParamPrateeka’, a unique art fest for four days from February 25 to 28 at the gallery founder Koti Prasad Alva’s Residence at ‘Ram Prasad’, Kodialguthu East Road, Mangaluru, from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm.

The event will showcase art in three categories. First one will be exhibition of artifacts and antiquities, second one is competition of installation art titled ‘ParamPrateeka’ and third one is exhibition of works by 27 reputed senior Artists. This unprecedented showcasing of a wide variety of art promises to be an unforgettable event and an unbeatable treat for artists and art lovers alike.

The event will be inaugurated by Chairman of Alva’s Educational Trust, Moodabidri Dr. M. Mohan Alva on Friday February 25 at 5.00 pm in the presence of Director of Bodhi College of Visual Art, Bengaluru Shivananda Basavanthappa. Former Member of Karnataka Legislative Council Capt. Ganesh Karnik will preside over the function.

A special interactive session will be organised with internationally renowned visual artist L. N. Tallur on Sunday February 27 at 4.30 pm. The session will be moderated by Art Historian of Mindcraft Studios Nemiraj Shetty.

Valedictory ceremony will be held on Monday February 28 at 5.00 pm. It will be presided over by Art Connoisseur K. R. Ramakrishna. Managing Trustee of Satya Foundation, Bengaluru, Founder President of Artists Forum, Udupi Dr. Annapurna S. Kamath Ramesh Rao and Member of Karnataka Lalitkala Academy, Bengaluru Permude Mohan Kumar are the Guests of Honour.

The exhibition section will feature the works of 27 senior artists. The works of B. G. Mohammad, Girija Yadav, K. L. Bhat, K. P. Shenoy, Panduranga Rao, Purushothama Karanth, Sanjeeva Shetty and Thilak Raj will be display.

In addition, the works of the senior artists like Anantha Padmanabha Rao, Dayananda Bejai, Devadas Shetty, Ganesha Somayaji, Madhusudhan Kumar, Kamal, Karunakara Shetty, Koti Prasad Alva, Manoranjini Rao, Mohan Kumar Permude, P. N. Acharya, P. S. Punchithaya, Ramesh Rao, Sanjeev Sherigar, Shabbir Ali, Sharath Holla, Nemiraj Shetty, Vishnu Shevgur, Yajna Acharya will be on display.
