Puttur: Proposal to construct milk packing unit in the city

Puttur: Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the office-bearers of the Dakshina Kannada District Milk Federation to construct a mini dairy at a cost of Rs 60 crore.
The plant will come up on about 15 acres of land in Puttur itself. The MLAs instructed the union to inspect the site as land has been identified at various places in Puttur taluk. If the plant is opened about a thousand people in puttur will also get employment. The MLA said that the MLAs were keen to start various industrial units in Puttur so that it would provide employment to the locals as well as the development of Puttur.
Assistant Commissioner Girish Nandan, Tahsildar Shivashankar, District Milk Federation President Sucharitha Shetty, Vice-President SB Jayaram Rai, Director Narayana Prakash, Sudhakar Rai, Manager Raviraj Udupa, Assistant Manager Dr Satish and others were present.
