Mangaluru: An IT employee was arrested from Tamil Nadu after two decades of committing a petty crime.

The man arrested has been identified as Chennakeshava, who is currently employed in an IT firm at Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu.

According to Puttur police, Chennakeshava was among four youth who were arrested and produced before the court on allegations of robbery of Rs. 1500 worth grocery at a petty store of one Vasantha Gowda at Padil of Puttur in Dakshina Kannada District in June 2002.

However, Chennakeshava went absconding midway through the trial and an arrest warrant too was issued against him. In the absence of Chennakeshava, the court however later had acquitted the other three accused.
