Bantwal: Condemning the brutal killings of innocent individuals in Rajasthan as well as in Honnavar, renowned actor Prakash Raj said that whether it is in Rajasthan or in Honnavar, the killings must be condemned because no human being has the right to kill another.
“These killings should never gain political colours,” said the actor speaking at the valedictory ceremony of ‘Samarasya Nadige Sauhardatheyedege’, a harmony walk held in Mani on Tuesday.
Opining that no religion preaches to kill and if it does, it should not be revered as a religion, Raj said that since decisions made by our elected representatives hold an impact on common man, the politicians must posses greater degree of political conscience.
“As an artist I took part in this walkthon, and it is also my responsibility. Every artist grows because of the love shown by the society and hence responding to social problems is their responsibility,” he said.
District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai said, “Everyone should cultivate harmony in their life. Efforts are being made to disrupt the social harmony in the name of religion, God and patriotism. When there is a threat to social harmony, we should come together and stay united.”
MLA Shrirama Reddy, CPI leader Dr Siddannagowda Patil also spoke during this occasion.
State minister UT Khader, MLA Abhaychandra Jain, Congress district president Harish Kumar and others were present.
