Ratna Kottari case: Govt announces Rs 3 lakh compensation

Byndoor : Byndoor MLA K Gopala Poojary has informed that the state government has announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the family of Ratna Kottari, a PU student who was found dead under suspicious circumstances after she went missing on her way home from the Shiroor College.

It is learnt, the MLA has spoken to  State Home Minister in connection with the case. The Home Ministry is said to have directed the Police Department to consider the case seriously.  The MLA said the  Western Range IGP and SP have been directed to submit a progress report on investigation on a daily basis.

IGP visits spot: Western Range IGP Amrit Paul has visited the spot where the body of Ratna was found.

Speaking to reporters, he said as the body of the girl was found decomposed, it has become difficult to ascertain the cause of the death. The medical report is expected  in a couple of days, he said.

SP Dr Boralingaiah, Kundapur DySP CB Patil, Byndoor Circle Inspector Sudarshan S and others were present.
