Mangaluru: The Yenepoya Nursing College inaugurated the Red Ribbon Club on Friday, February 28 and also held an introduction programme to the club.
The chief guest of the programme was Dr Badruddin M N, District AIDS Prevention and Control officer.
Addressing the gathering he said, “AIDS is a life threatening disease and in controlling and preventing it, youths have a major role to play. The Red Ribbon Club will work towards it.”
Dr Leena K C, principal of Yenepoya Nursing College introduced the Red Ribbon Club and its activities.
Registrar of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Dr Gangadhar Somayaji presided over the programme and gave his presidential remarks.
Navya from the Red Ribbon Club rendered the vote of thanks.
Mahesh U K, District Supervisor of DAPCU Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru and Akshatha Kamath, DSRC Counselor, Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru were the resource persons.
At the end of the programme, the Red Ribbon Club students enacted a drama.
