In a significant development, M. Srinivas has returned to lead the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) as Chairperson, bringing a wealth of experience to the position. The 74-year-old leader, hailing from Chikkamagaluru district, has an extensive background in mechanical engineering and entrepreneurship.
Srinivas previously served as the director of Mangalore Chemical Fertilizers from 1983 to 1985 and the Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation from 1992 to 1994. During his earlier tenure as KSTDC Chairperson in the 1990s, the organization achieved remarkable success, leading to Karnataka being recognized as the ‘best tourism state.’
Former Chief Minister J. H Patel commended Srinivas as the ‘best chairman’ for his outstanding leadership. Now, as Srinivas assumes the role once again, he expressed his vision for Karnataka’s tourism sector, highlighting the state’s abundant tourist destinations and its potential to rival any other state in terms of historical significance, connectivity, and tourist infrastructure.
