Mangaluru: Amid the demonetisation turmoil in the district, a Tulu movie to be released on November 18 has come to the aid of Tulu movie buffs by providing assurance of accepting the obsolete higher denominations of currency. This relief is being provided by “Panoda Bodcha” movie team claiming to accept Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes for tickets.
Addressing the members of media on Wednesday, November 16, Tulu comedy actor Naveen D Padil announced this decision and said that the producers of Panoda Bodcha (Should I tell it or not) have backed the decision.
Vinaya Nayak, the producer of Panoda Bodcha mentioned that the film will be released in 12 movie theatres all over Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. “The film team will help the public during the ongoing financial crunch by accepting the defunct legal tender notes. The legal issues in this matter will be looked after”, Vinaya said.
The movie is produced by Vinaya with the help of Mutthappa Rai under “Vruddhi Cine Creations” banner. Though it is the first production for Vruddhi Cine Creations, this movie will be the 75th Tulu movie to be released.
Speaking at the meeting, actor and dialogue writer Sundara Rai Mandara said that there are many scenic locations of Dakshina Kannada that had been featured in the movie. Further speaking about the movie, Sundara said, “I all, 207 local artistes and 20 local drama teams have been cast in the movie. Cinematographer Santhosh Rai Pathaje has indeed given his best in the movie”, he said and credited the technical team of the movie in bringing out their talents to make the movie one of a kind.
The lead roles are played by Kannada actors Shakunthala and Shivadhwaj. Madhu Surathkal has directed the movie and comedy actor Naveen D Padil will play a unique role.
