Mangaluru: On his second visit of October to the city, Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah spoke about certain issues pertaining to the state at Mangaluru International Airport on Sunday, 30 October. Siddaramaiah visited the city to inaugurate Buntawalada Bunts Bhavan in Bantwal.
Speaking to the members of the media at MIA CM Siddaramaiah said that a meeting will be conducted in two days to appoint a chairman for Boards and Corporations. Regarding the sand mining issue, he said that a separate sand policy will be brought in for the coastal regions of Karnataka.
Steel Bridge Issue
“When the BJP was in power back in 2010, they had put forth the proposal for the steel bridge. When the Congress Government announced this project in the 2014 budget, BJP took public opinion and stood against it.”
When asked about the corruption alleged in this project, he said that there is absolutely no corruption involved from anyone concerned with this project. “This is one of those transparent projects of the state. A tender had been floated and the lowest bidder, L&T Company got the project”, he added.
Tipu Jayanthi will happen
The objections from RSS did not have an effect on the decision of the Government on celebrating Tipu Jayanthi. Siddaramaiah mentioned that security will be tightened all over the state for the celebration.
Rudresh Murderers arrested
“Four people have been arrested with links of RSS Worker Rudresh’s murder. Strict action will be taken on the murders as per law. PFI’s role in this matter has not yet been established and RSS’s demand of banning PFI shall not be met”, he said.
