Mangaluru: The Shakthi Residential School managed by the Shakthi Education Trust, has organised a two-day academic and cultural programme `Shakthi Fest`at Shakthinagara from December 19.
Shakthi Education Trust Administrator Baikady Janardhana Achar told reporters on Saturday, December 1 that, over 500 students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod districts will be taking part in this two-day event.
The competitions will be held under four categories for the students learning under both English and Kannada medium schools. There will be 10 competitions in each category and I, II and III prizes will be given in cash or books. A total of Rs 1.25 Lakh will be distributed as prizes to the students, he added.
The competitions include elocution in English, Kannada and Hindi, Daasara Padagalu, poster making, best out of waste, science project, variety entertainment, action songs in English, Kannada, Hindi, colouring, patriotic songs, storytelling in English and Kannada, identifying great personalities, collage making, group dance including folk, fancy dress using papers, spell bee etc., Achar added.
Informing about the guidelines of the competition, Janardhana Achar said, “As the competitions will be held simultaneously, one student can participate in only one event and he can not participate in all events”, he added.
