Mangaluru: Vishwa Hindu Parishat International Working President Pravin Togadia will visit Mangaluru or Udupi on January 6.
Bajrang Dal Convener Sharan Pumpwell said that the leader will be visiting the region to be a part of Hindu Samajothsav, the venue of which is yet to be decided.
With the news of Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik visitng Mangaluru on January 3 being published, Pumpwell said that the government must stop the proposed visit.
He said that nationalist leaders like Dr Pravin Togadia and Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat were not permitted to address gatherings in Bengaluru and Sakleshpura and questioned how the Karnataka government was allowing the visit of Islamist Naik.
Recalling that the Islamic Scholar was banned from entering the UK in 2010, Pumpwel said that the district administration should not issue permission for anti-national Dr Naik’s meet in Mangaluru.
Datta Mala Abhiyana from Dec 16 to 24
Pumpwell informed that the annual Datta Mala Abhiyana will take place from December 16 to 24 this year and around 50,000 people from various parts of the state will take part in the event.
He said that over 15,000 people from Udupi, Kasargod, Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu district are expected to take part in the Abhiyana.
He also revealed that Sri Anusuya Devi Puja, Sri Ganapathy Homa and Sri Durga Homa and Sankeerthana Yatre by women will be held on December 22 and Ganapathy Homa, Rudra Homa, and Shobha Yatre and a public meeting will be held in Chikkamagaluru city on December 23.
