In a heartbreaking incident, a KSRTC bus conductor, Mahadevaswamy, aged 35, hailing from Halepura village in Chamarajanagar district, lost his life after falling from a moving bus near Mallanamoole Mutt on National Highway 766, approximately 20km from the city. The grieving family has filed a complaint against the bus driver, alleging negligence as the cause of the conductor’s untimely demise.
According to Nanjangud traffic police, the incident occurred around 7 am on Friday when a Mysuru-bound bus from Nanjangud was navigating a curve near a mutt on the national highway. Mahadevaswamy, positioned near the rear of the bus, was ejected from the vehicle while it was in motion. The quick response of the bus driver, who halted the vehicle upon being informed by passengers, was unfortunately not enough to save the conductor. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Mahadevaswamy was declared dead.
A case of rash and negligent driving has been initiated against the bus driver, and investigators are looking into the possibility that the rear door of the bus might have been left open, contributing to this tragic incident. Authorities are diligently examining the circumstances surrounding the mishap to establish the exact cause of the conductor’s fatal fall.
