Mangaluru: Tulu drama artistes’ Union has requested state BJP president MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to reduce the age limit to claim the financial assistance given to the drama artistes.
Speaking to News Karnataka Navneet Shetty Kadru, honorary advisor of the Tulu drama artist union said ‘amid lockdown, the Government of Karnataka has announced the financial assistance to the drama artistes but only of the artistes above 35 years and those who have served in the field of any art form for at least 10 years only are eligible to claim it. Many junior artists are not able to get the benefit of the assistance,” he informed.
On Thursday, June 3 the union of drama artistes led by president Kishor D Shetty met MP Kateel in this regard.
Nalin Kumar Kateel has ensured to discuss the matter with the CM and take necessary action in this regard.
Secretary Laxman Kumar Mallur, Treasurer Mohan Koppala, Welfare Fund Convener Pradeep Alva Kadri, Advisors Taranath Shetty Bolara, Prashant CK, and others were present.
