Udupi: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Excise Department in Udupi has set up control rooms at taluk headquarters in Udupi district to oversee the production, sale of counterfeit liquor, and prevent the distribution of liquor to influence voters.

The Excise Deputy Commissioner is encouraging the public to report any instances of illegal sale and distribution of liquor in Udupi. Information can be communicated to the department through control rooms in Udupi or directly to officers. The toll-free number for reporting is 1800 4250 732. Additionally, the public can contact specific control rooms at Udupi taluk (0820-2532732), Kundapura taluk (08254-200902), and Karkala taluk (08258-298865).

Individuals in Udupi can also reach out to officers directly using the following numbers: District Deputy Commissioner of Excise (9449597104), Udupi Deputy Superintendent of Excise (9538721125), Kundapura Deputy Superintendent of Excise (9900681914), Udupi Excise Inspector (9845412095), Kundapura Excise Inspector (7676269418), and Karkala Excise Inspector (9902729126). The initiative aims to curb the illegal activities related to liquor during the election period.
