Mangaluru: City-based Unity Care and Health Services Pvt Ltd was awarded as the “Best Company” title and its chairman Dr C P Habeeb Rahman was awarded the title of “Inspiring Leader” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.
The award was presented during a two-day conference organised by the World Confederation of Business, Houston, USA. The 15-year-old confederation of business, popularly known as “WORLDCOB”, has 3500 member organisations spread over 130 countries, who share ideas for collaboration amongst one another.
Dr Habeeb Rahman was awarded for his inspirational leadership during the conference. He was the only Indian among the awardees. There were as many as 150 participants from 130 countries present at the conference. He presented the concept of “Planet Health” during the conference for the members to take to their respective nations.
While expressing his happiness over receiving the prestigious award with the mediapersons on Tuesday, December 17, Habeeb informed that Planet Health is more important than individual and community health.
“We are largely disconnected from nature, which can be seen in climate change and natural calamities. We are also disconnected from our fellow human beings, which is seen in violence, terrorism and hatred. There are more deaths due to suicides than by war and violence. When I addressed the gathering regarding this topic and about changing the atmosphere of the world, the representatives of all the nations applauded and agreed with my views on the planet,” he said.
Informing about the responsibility of every citizen of every country, Habeeb said that every child in the universe needs to take part in a global revamping process and it has to begin from everywhere spontaneously and simultaneously. All should contribute their efforts to solve the ocean of problems that are created by the global society on the whole, he said.
