Thiruvananthapuram: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel’s recent announcement on the Vande Bharath Express is something that the people of Mangalore will welcome.
The Twitter post was mainly an expression of gratitude for taking the decision to extend these trains. Launched in 2023 by PM Narendra Modi, Vande Bharath has one train that runs through Kottayam.
Of the two trains that make frequent intervals from Thirunanthapuram to Kasargos, one is said to extend, coming all the way up to Mangalore.
The train that will be coming to Mangalore is the train going through Alappuzha, which will reach Mangalore at 12.40 am.
It will then leave Mangalore at 6.15 am, stopping at Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode Main, Tirur, Shoranur, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Kollam, to finally reachThiruvananthapuram at 3.05 pm.
This makes the extension a great help to Keralites residing in Mangalore too. The trains will be maintained at Mangalore and will run on all the days of the week except for Wednesday.
