Mangaluru: Well known NGO White Doves which has been running homes for destitute and mentally challenged will be presenting its 23rd annual Christmas mobile show, “2017 year old fact in a Mobile Act” on December 1, 2 and 3.
In a press meet, Jerald Fernandes, Manager of White Doves, said, “The shows will be performed at Bantwal, Shirva, and Mangaluru. In Mangaluru, already the troupe has completed 300 shows in 22 years. On December 1, Friday, the show will be in Bantwal, Loretto Church Ground at around 6:30 PM. On December 2, Saturday, the show will be in Shirva, Lady of Health Church Ground at 6:30 PM. On December 3, Sunday, the show will be in Nehru Maidan at 5:00 PM followed by the last show at Saint Agnes Special School grounds at 8:00 PM. The mobile show will be in the trailer trucks and the stage will measure over 120 feet. The troupe consists of 150 members of actors, singers, musicians, dancers, technical and stage managers.”
White Doves is an NGO founded by Corrine Rasquinha in the early 1990’s. The NGO has picked up 507 destitute from the streets of Mangaluru and rehabilitated them. Over 135 destitute have been sent to their homes all over India. Presently, there are 150 men, women and children residing in three homes run by White Doves at Matadakani, Kulshekar and Jail Road in Mangaluru.
