Udupi: “Is BJP out to do human sacrifices during Sirsi cult fair?”, questioned State Minister for Sports and Fisheries Pramod Madhwaraj in response to a Facebook post by Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hedge.
One can expect a bigger Marikaamba festival in the days to come, Minister Hedge had commented in his FB post accusing the State Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy, his adviser Kemapiah and Inspector General of Police Nimbalkar in what he termed as their “mindless application of section 307” on BJP supporters during the protest march in Sirsi few days ago.
Lashing out at Hegde’s FB post, Madhwaraj accused the BJP of fomenting riots for political gains keeping an eye on forthcoming assembly elections. Is the BJP trying to sacrifice innocent lives by instigating communal riots, questioned Madhwaraj in response to the post.
He also pointed at BJP National President Amit Shah’s diktat to state party leaders and subsequent incidents that took place in Hunsur involving Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha. At the same time, he urged the BJP leaders to desist from communal riots oriented election campaign.
Union Minister Hegde’s FB post comes in the back drop of the interim relief provided by the Sirsi court against 62 people who were arrested during a protest march few days ago. Minister Hegde had lauded the legal fraternity for acting quickly in providing the bail and had hinted at “serious consequences” during the forthcoming cult fair in Sirsi, widely known as Marikaamba festival.

Are the thrashings enough, Mr. Siddaramaiah? One can expect a bigger Marikaamba festival in the days to come if you rely upon people like Kempaiah and Ramalinga Reddy!
Sirsi court has provided relief to all the 62 people who have been arrested during the protest march in Sirsi town couple of days back, on bail. It is to be noted that the bail has been sanctioned within a span of just one and a half day. Today’s court decision has clearly conveyed that mindless application of section 307 would not be tolerated and the law of the land would assert itself. This is one of the greatest victory of Democracy!
I request our Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to have a peep into the mirror, now! His own court jester-colleagues are sure to drop him in mid-course and escape from the scene. What can his own consultant or the useless Home Minister do when the plans of supporting the terrorists and repressing the real patriots are in action!
Today’s court decision has provided us great moral support and has created more enthusiasm amongst us. We have decided to intensify our protest against the communal, caste carved dumb government besides targeting the terrorists. Let them face our ire!
I once again submit my humble and profound thanks to all the advocate fraternity which fought the case tooth and nail and provided relief to all my brothers. They have joined us in our struggle of Nation building and deserve great appreciation. We are deeply indebted to these advocates.
