Udupi: Udupi district BJP Women’s wing celebrated Atid onji Dina here on Saturday. The programme was inaugurated by the District president Tingale Vikramarjuna Hegde.
Speaking on the occasion Hegde said, “Earlier, our elders used to consume food grown in their farms and were healthy. But in today’s modern world it is not like that. We should organise these programmes to preserve our forefathers’ tradition and way of life to our future generation.
Women’s wing District President Sheela K Shetty presided over the programme. State BJP secretary Shyamala Kunder, District panchayath president Savitha Shivananda Kotian andTaluk panchayath president Sunitha Naik were the chief guests on the occasion.
Party office bearers Sandhya Ramesh, Suma Keshav, Vasudha Prabhu, Jayanthi Vasu, Sharada Poojary, Geetha Ravi Shet were on the dais during the inaugural.
State committee member Reshma Udaya Shetty welcomed the gathering and District Women’s wing secretary Veena Shetty compered the programme.
Later, women party members shared 40 varieties of food items prepared on the occasion of Ati among all gathered.
