In a disturbing incident in the Saralebettu area of Manipal, a young student fell victim to a merciless beating at the hands of a gang of six local youths. The entire ordeal was captured on CCTV footage, shedding light on the brutal attack.
Victim and Circumstances:
The victim, identified as Arush Kumar (21) from Mumbai, is a student at a private college in Manipal. Arush was targeted after his leg accidentally made contact with one of the assailants at a bar, reportedly named D & T Bar in Manipal, where the gang was consuming alcohol.
Attack:
Not content with merely assaulting Arush at the bar, the gang pursued him all the way to his residence at Manjunath Apartment, where he lives alone. They continued their vicious attack, preventing Arush from entering his apartment. Fortunately, friends of Arush arrived at the scene, but the gang persisted, even threatening Arush with further violence via phone calls.
Police Response:
Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, Manipal police promptly contacted Arush, gathered information, and registered a complaint. The police are actively pursuing the accused and are determined to bring them to justice.
