Karkala: “State government under Congress has implemented several schemes including pro-farmer schemes such as Annabhagya, Ksheerabhagya and fulfilled promises made during elections within two years of governance”, said district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.
He was speaking after a district level ‘Janasamparka Sabhe’ at Karkala Manjunath Pai auditorium on September 14. “Enough funds have been sanctioned for the development of Karkala town and in the coming days, we will continue to work towards it. During Mahamasthakabhisheka, works were undertaken at the cost of 15 crores and 50 crore have been sanctioned for upgrading roads through department of public works”, he added.
He also spoke about Namma Grama-Namma Rasthe and district panchayath road and said that 21 crore each for the works have been sanctioned and five roads have been upgraded under Grama Vikasa Yojana. “Each village will get Rs 25 lakh”, he said.
“Farmers are getting interest free loans and several pro farmer schemes have been implemented by our state government”, he added.
Following Kasturi Rangan report, 14 ‘Janasamparka Sabhe’ was held in Udupi district and only people from residential areas have opposed the project.
DC Dr Vishal, district panchayath officer Kanagavalli, district panchayath president Savitha Kotian, taluk panchayath president Vijaya Kumari, Muncipal president Rehmath, taluk panchayath vice president Malini Rai, members were present.
The Minister distributed several government facilities to beneficiaries.
Udupi Raitha Morcha president Mutlupady Sathish Shetty urged minister to provide medicine to cure root eater worms, which has worried areca nut growers. Minister assured to discuss the issue with agricultural minister and Chief Minister and find solution. The issue will be cleared before next Janasamparka Sabhe, it has been said.
