Udupi: Tension prevailed at the MGM College in Udupi after the college Principal ordered some girl students wearing hijabs to leave the campus.
Postgraduate students wearing hijabs who tried to join the college complained that they were not allowed to attend classes or enter the college, which is in violation of a High Court order.
Due to the controversy over the hijab, the students said they were unable to sit for their examinations earlier. Following the Principal’s order, girl students wearing hijab who had come to attend degree classes also left the campus.
