Udupi: A girl studying in the ninth grade and belonging to a Dalit family was sexually assaulted by an unidentified man at Kelanejaru village in Santhekatte.
The police has said that the government district women and children hospital in Udupi forwarded the complaint to the station -that a the patient is sexually assaulted.
She was admitted after complaining of a stomach ache, it has been reported. She is a student of Thenkanidiyur government high school.
The police have also said that she is not physically fit to identify the person or the incident as she is mentally disturbed. In the outset, it looks that someone from the school has committed the crime.
The interrogation and the investigation will be taken up at the earliest, the police added.
A case is registered in Malpe police station.
