Byndoor: A police constable was beaten up by locals for allegedly having an illegitimate affair with a local woman. The incident took place near Shiroor market on Monday, November 2.
According to sources, Kiran, posted at Byndoor police station used to frequent a woman belonging to another community at her house near Shiroor market. Raged with this, the locals during his visit on Monday questioned him as to which he is said to have replied that he was helping the woman out with her passport related work. Unwilling to believe him, the mob beat him black and blue.
Police arrived at the spot and took Kiran into custody. The local police have registered a case.
