Karkala: Police seized Rs 70 Lakh worth of currency notes from a car near Byloor in Karkala during the night hours of Friday, November 1 and nabbed three people in connection with the illegal shipment.
Asif, Imran and Deepak, all residents of Kudroli in Mangaluru were nabbed by the police. The huge amount of cash was being taken in a Ford car bearing number KA 19 MA 7629 to an unidentified location in Karkala from Mangaluru via Udupi.
Police intercepted the car during shipment. Investigations are on to detect the source and destination of the illegal shipment. A team led by Circle Inspector John Anthony conducted the raid.
Further investigations are in progress by the IT officials.
