Software engineer from Udupi ends life in Bengaluru

dead THUdupi/Bengaluru: A 32-year-old bank employee allegedly committed suicide late on Wednesday night. According to the police, Harsha Shetty, who worked with a private bank in the city, was allegedly distraught by the number of people in his family who were battling cancer.

Both Shetty’s mother and grandmother passed away a few years ago succumbing to cancer.

Recently, his sister too was diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Udupi. He had gone home to visit his sister on December 10. “On Wednesday night, Shetty told his wife that he was disturbed about the number of cancer cases around him and expressed fears that he, too, would be diagnosed with the condition sooner or later,” said the police.

Shetty, a resident of Prashanth Nagar was a native of Udupi and a software engineer by education.
