Udupi: The nation-wide strike called by Joint Committee of Trade Unions over BJP’s proposed changes in labour laws is being observed in Udupi. The bandh has hit normal life in the district.
Members of CPIM, CITU and Karmika Rakshana Vedike have called for complete bandh in the district. Police have deployed tight security to avoid miscreants creating chaos.
All the employees of private and service buses are supporting the strike; Hence, the bus stand wore a deserted look. All the government, private, and aided primary schools, high schools and colleges have declared a holiday in lieu of the strike.
