Udupi: ‘Strict action to be taken on printing press violating rules’

Udupi: District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao M. said that strict action will be taken against those who print pamphlets, posters and banners in violation of the provisions prescribed by the Election Commission and print pamphlets, posters and banners that create any kind of misinformation as well as communal riots.

He was speaking after chairing a meeting with the owners of the District Printing Press, Flex Printers and their representatives at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Auditorium at Rajathadri in Manipal on Wednesday April 5. “The name of the printer, name of the publisher, the mobile number and the number of the printed copies should be entered in front of the brochure, and plate poster banner,” he said.

No material should be printed that hurts the sentiments of any religion, caste, language or people, he said.
