Udupi: The affidavit submitted by BJP candidate Yashpal A Suvarna along with nomination paper before the returning officer for asembly election from Udupi constituency is false, alleges JD(S) candidate Dakshat R Shetty.
Addressing a press meet held at Udupi Pathrika Bhavan here on Saturday, April 22, Dakshat R Shetty alleged that BJP candidate submitted his affidavit to the returning officer on April 20th at 1.07pm. But the notary signed the affidavit on April 19th. Hence, from a legal point of view, it would be the cheating and false affidavit, he added.
“I have no personal dispute with BJP candidate Yashpal Suvarna. However, the rules are not followed during the filing of the nomination papers which is illegal. So he should be disqualified from contesting in the election”, he urged.
He also said that he will fight in court against the rules of nomination filed by BJP candidates in due course.
