Udupi: Ban on vehicles at Balebare Ghat extended

Udupi: Deputy Commissioner has extended the ban on vehicular movement at Balebare Ghat on Theerthahalli-Kundapur State Highway 52 for an additional period of 10 days due to disruption in the concrete pavement work.

Earlier, vehicular movement was banned till April 5. As the work has been delayed, the ban has been extended till April 15 and motorists have been ordered to ply on the alternate road.

Light vehicles plying towards Kundapur via Theerthahalli will be allowed to ply via Theerthahalli – Haladi – Basrur – Kundapur, while heavy vehicles will be allowed to ply via Theerthahalli- Hebri – Udupi – Kundapur. Vehicles going towards Theerthahalli – Yadur – Hulikal – Kundapur will have to travel to Theerthahalli – Yadur – Mastikatte – Nagar – Kollur – Kundapur. According to the order, only light goods vehicles, except for heavy goods vehicles like multi-axles, can ply on the Hosanagara – Kollur – Kundapur Road.
