Udupi: Sanoor Narasimha Kamath, State Convener of Sahakara Bharati Milk Prakoshta has demanded that funds should be given for providing incentives in the State Budget as Rs. 5 per litre for milk and Nandini animal feed at least Rs. 5 per kg.
Speaking to mediapersons in the City he said that now the price of milk has been increased by only Rs. 2. He said that it is not enough. The cost of production of milk is around Rs. 40 and dairy farmers are getting only Rs. 35. Thus, the dairy farmers lose Rs. 5 per litre,” he said
“If this continues, there will be a situation in rural areas where dairy farming will be abandoned,” he said.
