Udupi: CM Bommai lays foundation stone for various works

Udupi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the people of this region are intelligent and soft spoken. It was a pleasure to see this, he said.

Speaking after inaugurating the foundation stone laying ceremony of various departments and distribution of beneficiaries at Nehru Ground in Siddapura Taluk, he said that Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri has worked hard for the development of the region. He said that today the situation in the Country has changed and development which was slow earlier has gained momentum.

“Earlier there were not many irrigation projects and now the Country has been Irrigated under the Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme to irrigate 40 lakh houses,” he said and added that our State is on the path of progress in terms of economic investment. “Education is of utmost importance and hence priority is given to education through various schemes for different classes. Free education will be provided to graduates from the primary level in order to provide education to all,” he said.

District In-Charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that due to Kageri’s untiring efforts, a lot of development work has been done in the region and good quality education system, drinking water, bus facility, Kumta and Siddapura road works have started. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has undertaken a lot of development works for the entire State, he has taken special care of Uttara Kannada District. He has also given special attention to the development of the region and today he has given sewing machines to provide self-employment to the people of this region, free 75 units of electricity to the people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, construction of school rooms and many other development works,” he noted.

Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri said, “Our Chief miniszter is moving forward in taking our State on the path of development at the fastest pace in the entire Country. We are fortunate to have come to Siddapura to lay the foundation stone for various development works. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai laid more emphasis on education under the Vidyanidhi Yojana, distributed diesel under Raitha Shakti scheme, given grants to Anganawadi workers, ASHA workers, Midday meal workers, recruited 15,000 school teachers, and constructed Viveka school rooms. He also launched various development works at a cost of Rs. 59 Crore. He said more development works would be undertaken in the region in the near future.

He distributed facilities to various beneficiaries on the occasion.
