Udupi: Covishield vax shortage in DK, Udupi 80% people yet to take shot

Udupi: There is a shortage of Covishield vaccine across the State and 80 per cent of the eligible people in Dakshina Kannada District are yet to get vaccinated.

Those who have received the first dose of Covishield vaccine will have to take the second dose and the Blue Star dose of Covishield but at present there is no Covishield storage in the District as a result of which the period of receiving the second and bluester doses has already passed and they are not getting the vaccine.

There is a shortage of vaccines across the State. Covishield vaccine is not available in Udupi District too, he information will be given as soon as the vaccine arrives, said Udupi District Health and Family Welfare Officials.

With Covid surge in high-risk countries and fears in Dakshina Kannada District too, Health Department has decided to restart the vaccination drive for those who are yet to be vaccinated.
